This gallery is dedicated to Allison West, the CFLsurf.com Surf Girl of the Month for Sept 2007.

Allison was also the Surf Girl of the Month for May 2005 when we first met her in Nosara, Costa Rica. I saw her once again at the National Kidney Foundation Surf Festival in Cocoa Beach in September 2007, so we decided it was time for an update. Allison is a professionally trained chef who once had her own restaurant in Nosara, Costa Rica, named Allison's Sunset Bar. She had to move back to the states in 2006, so she closed the restaurant. Allison now lives in Rincon, Puerto Rico during the winter months and plans to spend the summer months in Nosara teaching Yoga. Allison also plans on starting a destination weddings business in Rincon, where she will offer amazing wedding cakes along with gourmet catering. Last winter in Rincon she was head chef/manager of a small organic/health food cafe named the "Natural High". I'll do an update when she gives us some more information about the new business venture.

Allison is a real surfer girl whose lifestyle is totally driven by the call of the ocean's roar. You can see a shot of her below ripping a 10 foot wave at Pavones, Costa Rica. We'll keep tabs on Allison and her surfing adventures since she promised to keep us posted on a more regular basis. I am sure we will see her again somewhere. (Hey Alli, don't forget to drop by Cocoa Beach - especially the next time we get a 10 foot hurricane swell with light off-shore winds).

Allison REALLY surfs!!! That's easily a 10 foot wave at Pavones, Costa Rica.

Two years after we first met, I almost tripped over Allison at the National Kidney Foundation Surf Contest in Cocoa Beach, FL, in September 2007.
She was competing, but was also helping out as a contest staff member.

Of course, the gals had to do some shopping at the giant Cocoa Beach Surf Company store. I caught them heading back for the beach.
That looks like a new hat to me. Below are some of the original pics taken in Nosara in May 2005.

Allison at the Nosara Hotel in Costa Rica in 2005. Allison has moved to Puerto Rico, but I think the cat still lives in Nosara.

This shot was taken with a telephoto lens from 1/4 mile away. It is hard to miss that blonde hair glowing in the Costa Rican sun.
