Nosara 2008

Almost Toes on the Nose Ross (continued)

These shots were taken in Nosara, Costa Rica, in July 2008. The images are sized for a 1440 by 900 display resolution (the most common size for a wide screen laptop). Since I look at my own pics more than anyone else does, I sized the pics for my computer.

Photos by Suzanne (CFLsurf.com staff photographer).

For the 10 day trip (20 surf sessions) only 3 sessions were really good for longboard surfing. It was just a little too big and the shoulders were coming down a little too fast
during the other sessions. The above shot is from one of the really good sessions.

The above shot is from the evening before a really big swell arrived. The heavy (over 20 lbs) rental board I had was not very good, but I got a few of the early arrivals.

The above shot and the two that follow are from the same wave. Although it looks like fun, waves this size are a real struggle to paddle out through on a longboard.
I got really beat up every time I got caught inside or misjudged a shoulder.

This above shot and the two that follow are from our best morning session. When it is like this, it is Longboard Heaven and you want to stay out until your arms fall off.

On days when the walls were coming down fast, I did a lot of very short charges like this. They only lasts about 3 seconds, but are kind of fun.
