Nosara 2010

Almost Toes on the Nose Ross (back in Nosara once again)

Almost toes on the nose Ross, Hermosa Mike, and Short Board Bob (left to right). A bridge was washed out on the road to Nosara so we stayed
the first 3 nights at Playa Hermosa just south of Jaco.

In 2009 there was over a dozen of us, but for 2010 only 4 of us did the November trek to Nosara.

November is a good small to medium size wave month. This is a just a medium size wave.

That's a very heavy 9'0". I like a heavy board in a rolling swell. My 9'2" (yellow board shown later) is a super light.

That big belly is history. When I saw this years photos I immediately went vegetarian and lost 30 lbs in four months.

Towards the end of the week I just couldn't carry the heavy 9 footer for the 20 minute walk to where we liked to surf, so I switched
to the super light 9'2" that Mike keeps in Hermosa. It's a local brand made in Jaco, using shortboard (4 oz) cloth. It won't last long, and I cracked it
the first week we got it, but is sure is light.

We surfed every day, usually morning and evening sessions. That's the big difference between Florida and Costa Rica. We often wait 6 weeks for
a 4 foot swell in Florida. They think a 4 foot swell is "the FLATS" in Nosara.
