Ami Berg - Surf Girl of the Month for October 2009

This page is dedicated to Ami Berg, one of Central Florida's top women surfers on both longboards and shortboards. Ami is 22 years old and currently attends the University of Central Florida, working on a BA in Elementary Education with a Minor in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies. Ami is a very competitive Pro/Am Surfer and competes in as many contests as possible up and down the east coast of Florida. She recently finished 1st overall in Women's Shortboard and also 1st overall in Women's Longboard for the entire 2008/2009 season in the North Central Florida Division of the Eastern Surfing Association (ESA). She also placed 2nd in the Women's Pro Longboard in the 2009 Waterman's Challenge, and placed 2nd in the Women's Pro Longboard and 1st in Women's Shortboard in the 2008 Waterman's Challenge. Other contests results include 4th in Women's Pro Longboard and 5th in Women's Pro Shortboard in the 2008 National Kidney Foundation (NKF) contest. The lists of Ami's surf contest trophies goes on and on! Ami also works at the Ron Jons Surfing School teaching surf camps and private lessons in Cocoa Beach, and teaches lessons at the Typhoon Lagoon Wave Pool in Orlando. Her current surf sponsor is Trunq Surf Accessories. Her sunblock sponsor is Smart Girls Who Surf, a natural skin care company located in Laguna Beach, California. Ami would like to acquire additional sponsors. (That sounds like a real opportunity to surf clothing and accessory companies that visit CFLsurf.com).
